The winner, Ginger Jam (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Newcastle on 15 September 2022 where the gelding finished ninth of fourteen, beaten by 7 lengths.
It was noted that Nigel Tinkler could offer no explanation for the improved form, other than the gelding appears to reserve its best efforts for claiming riders.
Ginger Jam (GB) was routine tested.
Approximately 2 ½ furlongs out, Showalong (GB), unplaced, lugged left-handed causing Ventura Express (GB), unplaced, to be steadied when left short of room but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that there was no riding offence involved.
Following the race, Paul Hanagan reported that Runninwild (GB), placed second, hung right.
