THE PUMP TECHNOLOGY SERVICES JUNG TRAINING DAY EBF FILLIES' NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for Blue Corn (IRE) and Lorraine (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, the winner, Lorraine (GB), edged slightly left-handed, giving a slight bump to Ruby Sands (GB), placed third, which had committed to a tight but legitimate gap, resulting in Ruby Sands (GB) making contact with Lady Miranda (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Lorraine (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line, involving, the winner, Lorraine (GB), ridden by Robert Havlin and Ruby Sands (GB), placed third, ridden by Jack Mitchell.
David Probert the rider of Art Of Life (GB), placed second, was interviewed but found not to be involved in the incident.
The interference was found to be accidental as Lorraine (GB) shifted quickly left-handed before being corrected, causing Ruby Sands (GB) to become short of room and Mitchell to take a precautionary check.
Following the race, Jason Watson reported that Blue Corn (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run approximately 1 ½ furlongs out.
