The winner Pol Roger (IRE) appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 2 April 2024, where the gelding finished seventh of twelve beaten 13½ lengths.
Michael Dods explained that the gelding may have benefited from the step up in trip from 1 mile to 1 mile 2 furlongs on better ground on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Pol Roger (IRE) was routine tested.
