THE DOWNLOAD THE AT THE RACES APP AMATEUR JOCKEYS' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Volto Di Medusa (IRE) to wear a red hood, go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Permission was also given for This Rib (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Pipily (GB) to wear a hood in the parade ring.
An enquiry was held to consider two pieces of interference inside the final furlong involving Imola (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Mr Fletcher Yarham; Volto Di Medusa (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Miss Mell Boucher; Silky Lass (GB), placed second, ridden by Mr Jack Lander; Hashtagnotions (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Miss Isla Clarkson; Quick Quasar (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Miss Brodie Hampson and This Rib (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Kayleigh McCammon.
The riders were accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
In the first incident Mr Yarham was suspended for 3 days on dates to be notified by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for careless riding as he switched his mount right-handed off the heels of Quick Quasar (IRE) to improve his position when not sufficiently clear of This Rib (GB), causing Miss McCammon to check her mount and shift right-handed to avoid the heels of Hashtagnotions (IRE), which in turn hampered Volto Di Medusa (IRE).
In the second incident, initially Quick Quasar (IRE) lugged right-handed from the inside before being quickly corrected by Miss Hampson and hampered Imola (IRE), which in turn gave a significant bump to Hashtagnotions (IRE), before Miss Clarkson had to check that runner due to pressure from Silky Lass (GB) on her outside.
Miss Hampson’s contribution to this incident was considered to be accidental, as she had taken both timely and reasonable steps to correct her mount, however Mr Lander was suspended for 2 days for careless riding on dates to be notified by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, as he allowed his mount to hang left-handed for some distance without sufficient correction contributing to Miss Clarkson running out of racing room and having to take a check.
Leaving the stalls, Harbour Vision (GB), placed third, jumped very awkwardly and shifted right-handed hampering Silky Lass (GB), placed second, and also gave a bump to Imola (IRE), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Harbour Vision (GB).
Leaving the stalls, Hashtagnotions (IRE), unplaced, jumped left-handed at the same time as the winner Pentonville (GB), jumped slightly right-handed resulting in Sandret (IRE), unplaced, being badly crowded for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pentonville (GB).
Inside 1 ½ furlongs out, the winner Pentonville (GB) hung left-handed despite the riders best efforts to correct the gelding impeding Hashtagnotions (IRE), unplaced, which in turn moved This Rib (GB), unplaced, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pentonville (GB).
The Stewards noted that on the run to the line, Rhythm N Rock (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run when trapped on the heels of Harbour Vision (GB), placed third.
