Permission was given for Kibaar (GB) and Groundworker (IRE) to go early to post.
Approaching the final furlong, Swiss Connection (GB), placed second, shifted quickly right moving On Route (GB), placed sixth, off its intended line which in turn caused the rider of Deeds Not Words (IRE), unplaced, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Swiss Connection (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference.
In the first instance, approaching the furlong marker, the winner, Gleaming Arch (GB), ridden by Kevin Stott, interfered with Be Proud, placed fourth, ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
Stott was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction causing Tudhope to take a significant check.
In the second instance, Stott was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as, approaching the line, he allowed his mount to drift left without sufficient correction taking Swiss Connection (GB), placed second, ridden by Graham Lee, off his intended line causing Someone Exciting (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Harrison Shaw to be taken off heels and subsequently lose a place.
Following the race, Ben Robinson reported that Hanati (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and never travelling.
