'He pulled away like a good horse today' - Hassett moves ahead in Apprentice Jockeys title
the most important thing today was that Wayne got a winner to get him back in front. We’re throwing everything at it and we were unlucky yesterday in Gowran in the maiden, just beaten a head (with Rocket Robyn). We’re going to Navan tomorrow with Bynx and Secret Magician has a chance later on.

it’s a big credit to all the lads at home. It’s always a team effort and we have fantastic riders and ground staff. You wouldn’t do it without them as I’m away at the sales a lot. I’m delighted for everybody at home. This filly is actually going to the sales next week so that was nice. She’s going to progress into a lovely filly next year and hopefully with a new owner. That’s really all I do, is sell them. It’s unusual that I even have a three-year-old racing. I’m delighted with her. I thought she was in good form but I was a little bit worried about the ground. She’s very fit as she’s been galloping with some of the jumpers, leading a few of the bumper horses. She’s been doing plenty of nice steady work. She’s a lovely filly for the future. I think when she gets fast ground she’ll improve an awful lot.

Stars align for Syzygy at the Curragh
she’s out of a Teofilo - the same as Nancee Spain I had who won in Roscommon, and they just seem to grow a leg on that ground. The two of them are kind of in the same boat, they were slow to learn but are improving all the time. Ben said Syzygy knows she’s a racehorse now, even going down to the start she was fairly switched on and actually raced a touch keen. He said if he had got a bit of cover it would have suited better. I can’t give out about her as she’s after winning three in a row. She’s on the improve but that might be her for the year. If it had been good ground it would probably have been a bad draw but on slower ground you see them coming home down the middle of the track to get the fresher bit of ground. That gave me a bit of confidence. In all fairness to the filly, she had to be good and game and she was. Ben was excellent on her as per usual.
