Approaching the final furlong, Carefree Dream (GB), placed third, drifted left-handed away from the whip before being corrected by its rider, resulting in Henrythenate (GB), placed fourth, being taken off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Carefree Dream (GB).
Following the race, John Fahy reported that Star Marian (GB), placed fifth, hung right-handed throughout and Stevie Donohoe reported that Henrythenate (GB), placed fourth, ran too freely.
