Shane Gray who had been declared to ride Bluestone Lady (IRE), trained by Karl Burke, had refused to do so after weighing out.
The rider and the Starer were interviewed.
Gray explained that he had concerns as the filly had boiled over in the prelims and behind the stalls during the loading process, despite his and the starting teams’ best efforts.
He added that in his opinion it was unsafe for himself, the stalls handlers or Bluestone Lady (IRE) to persevere and attempt the loading process.
His explanation was noted.
