The Real Screamer roars home for Flynn
Sonoran up and running for Lyons team
We took our time with him as he was immature as a two-year-old, but has really filled into himself. He is having a look around even now (in the winner's enclosure), so is going to improve an awful lot. It wasn't a great-ish contest, but that's not his fault and Colin said he will get further and can only improve. We'll go home and make a plan. We had a couple of horses by Arizona including William F Browne, who won a couple of races for us.
Lee doubles up in Tipperary aboard Shoney
Sprinter Sarahmae secures second Tipperary success
she deserved that as she was unlucky at Cork last week, when she could possibly have won. She missed the start by a long way. She is obviously improving and likes an ease in the ground, which she hasn’t had since she won here last month. She looks an improving sprinter so hopefully can keep going and Joey gets a good tune out of her; he is riding very well. She has had a few quick runs so we’ll freshen her up and find a target. This is great and she is paying her way.
Spanish John sees off Plunkett Street
He found it very hard to find his feet and with different things including a palate problem as well. We sent him to Ger Kelly (vet) who gave him a wind operation. He was carrying weight (condition) today so we thought he'd be lucky if he was up to it, but the non-runners helped and so did the wind operation. We'll mix and match between Flat and hurdles but it'll keep my brother-in-law John Smith (winning owner) quiet as he kept saying I'd never win with that fella!
