An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend when the winner, Fizzy Feet (IRE), ridden by Trevor Whelan, interfered with Hanakotoba (USA), placed fifth, ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, who in turn interfered with Shining (GB), placed third, ridden by Charlie Bennett, who in turn interfered with Keyhaven (GB), placed sixth, ridden by George Wood.
Whelan was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he edged left when not sufficiently clear causing De Sousa to take a check, which in turn caused Bennett to be shifted left off his intended line, resulting in Wood becoming tight for room and having to take a significant check off heels.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that the winner, Fizzy Feet (IRE), hung left-handed under pressure.
