Permission was given for Comeonrita (GB) to go early to post and for Annie Nail (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Kate Madrik (FR), trained by Mickey Bowen, appeared to show evidence of possible administration of a substance, with a yellow stain present in the region of the left jugular vein.
The representative of Mickey Bowen and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed.
The explanation given by Bowen’s representative that Kate Madrik (FR) had received an acceptable substance, the previous day, 05 May 2025, which was verified by the home Veterinary Surgeon.
Being satisfied that the mare had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of racing, the Stewards allowed Kate Madrik (FR) to run, and ordered the mare to be routine tested.
A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Miss Fedora (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Comeonrita (GB), placed fourth, had bled from the nose.
