Captain Guinness (IRE) wore ear plugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend turning into the home straight involving Captain Guinness (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rachael Blackmore; Editeur Du Gite (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Niall Houlihan and the winner, Energumene (FR), ridden by P Townend.
Townend was suspended for 5 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed when insufficiently clear taking Blackmore slightly off her intended line, causing Houlihan to be shortened for room on the rail, to take a check and stumble.
The performance of Edwardstone (GB), which finished fifth of five finishers beaten 63 ¾ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that Alan King could offer no explanation for the gelding's performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race Harry Skelton reported that Nube Negra (SPA), which was pulled up, was never travelling.
