An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start, involving Carlton And Co (GB), unplaced, ridden by Lewis Chalkley, the winner, Little Empire (IRE), ridden by Daniel Tudhope and Sir Garfield (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jason Hart.
Being a 7Ib claiming apprentice, Chalkley was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
The interference was found to be accidental as Little Empire (IRE) shifted slightly left-handed, at the same time as Sir Garfield (IRE) moved marginally right-handed, resulting in Sir Garfield (IRE) clipping a heel and stumbling.
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Inanna (IRE), placed fifth, missed the break and ran too free.
