Approximately 2 ½ furlongs out, Dinsdale (GB), unplaced, drifted quickly left away from the whip before being corrected, carrying Possible Ambition (GB), unplaced, and Walkonby (GB), placed eighth, off their intended lines, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

Murphy-Knight, the rider of Dinsdale (GB), unplaced, had appeared to stop riding at the half furlong marker.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Mr Murphy-Knight was suspended for 2 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that would have finished eighth.
