THE SOUTHERN CONTRACT LIFTING HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Gorcombe Moonshine (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The Starter reported that there had been a malfunction with the starting tape mechanism, so permission was given for a flag start to be used.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final fence, involving Gorcombe Moonshine (GB), placed second, ridden by Ben Godfrey, Rap Soul (FR), placed third, ridden by Harry Bannister, and the winner, Misteroddsocks (IRE), ridden by Ciaran Gethings.
The interference was found to be accidental as Bannister moved slightly left-handed at the same time as Godfrey moved right-handed, causing Gethings to become tightened for room.
