Following the race, Mr Alex Edwards reported that BEAR’S AFFAIR (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling after an early jumping error, Mr William Biddick reported that Wonderful Charm, which was pulled up, was never travelling.
Gordon Elliott reported that Ucello Conti (FR), which was pulled up, was never travelling after an early jumping error; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Just Cause (IRE), unplaced, lost its left fore shoe and Shimla Dawn (IRE), which was pulled up, lost its right fore shoe.
It was noted that Mr Martin McIntyre the rider of Starkie (GB) had been given permission to ride the gelding back after being unseated, as he had been cleared by the doctor and the horse checked by the Veterinary Surgeon.
For six-year-olds and upwards, who, after October, 2016, and before March 18, 2019, have finished first, second or third in a Hunters' steeple chase on two occasions OR have finished first, second or third in a Hunters' chase on one occasion and have won either another chase (Hunters' chases included) or, during the current Point-to-Point season, an Open Point-to-Point chase.
