An enquiry was held to consider whether Lt Billy Aprahamian, the rider of Carlos Du Fruitier (FR), which was pulled up approaching 2 fences out, had continued in the race when his horse appeared to have lost its action approaching 3 fences out.
The rider and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed and recordings of the incident were viewed.
The Veterinary Officer stated that the gelding was lame.
The Stewards accepted Aprahamian’s explanation that he had pulled up as soon as he was aware of an issue with Carlos Du Fruitier (FR) and dismounted as soon as was safe to do so, after the rest of the field had passed.
