I thought if he stayed two miles the last day we would make use of him over that trip. It is great when a plan works, I fancied him tonight - he was 8lb better off with Higher Kingdom (second to him over C&D in January). He'll be kept busy on the turf and could go back over hurdles as well.

Dundalk Thu, 16th Mar, 2023  Almendares He's improving on every run, he's going the right way and two on the bounce. He'll probably be sold now I'd imagine, Hong Kong was interested in him during the week. He was rated 81, so we came here and he will probably go to 90 now. He's getting better and I think there is more to come. We thought he was a nice horse last year but he was a bit weak, sore shins and that. I thought Vanguard Star beat him very easily the last day, but he obviously is after improving a lot since then. I knew he would improve, but I didn't know he would improve that much.

Dundalk Fri, 3rd Mar, 2023  Almendares Lovely performance today, he was only about 70 per cent ready the last day. He actually came to win the race the last day and Andrew said he just blew up. Today even looked a better race and he bossed it. A fair effort from stall 16 and he won very impressively. You could call him the winner turning into the straight. He'll have no bother staying seven (furlongs), he powered up the straight and Andrew said he had plenty of horse left. He loves the sound surface. Onwards and upwards.
