The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference the closing stages involving Double Helix, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, placed first, El Paraiso, ridden by Mr. J.L. Gleeson and Sharbel, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr P.W. Mullins stated that his mount came from behind to hit the front before the wings of the last and stayed in front. He further added that his mount ran green, leaned in and that things became tight. Mr D. O'Connor stated that he felt the horse on his outside had used him as a guide, that his mount felt intimidation, contact on two occasions and became unbalanced as a result. Gleeson stated that he received a small bit of pressure from his outside at the fifty-yard marker. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards, made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, satisfied that Mr P.W. Mullins, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for four racedays

Fillies allowed 7lbs. Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S Rules. Not more than 16 runners will be permitted to run in this race.
