Formscan By Shane Redmond - BOSTON BENJAMIN (13) is very lightly raced since winning over this course and distance on his handicap debut back in February, failing to land much of a blow over eight furlongs on soft ground at the Curragh in April and before showing even less on two more recent starts over hurdles. But back at Dundalk, he might well come alive again and has only a featherweight to carry compared to some far more exposed rivals. City House is without a win since his two-year-old days but he's run some nice races this season, namely behind Dunum in the Ahonoora Handicap at the Galway Festival, and is deserving of a change of luck. His stablemate Exquisite Acclaim is a big player after his bold showing from the front over eight furlongs here last week while Headmaster is an interesting contender on his first start at the track.

I hoping that the step up in trip would suit him. We had to draw a line through what happened at Naas, he was left on his own. He’s such an honest horse. I said around a bend here we’d try him over seven. I declared him for Sunday, over six (at Navan), just in case I was wrong. Gary said doing that he’d nearly get a mile, the way he ran on. He’s only a baby, and still a colt, so there is plenty of improvement. He has a great temperament and, as I said last night, I love that sire, he has been good to us.

I’d love to take any credit, but I can’t. This is Sarah’s (Lynam, daughter) horse really, she bought him, and I’m only in charge of who mucks him out!. Sarah does all the work with him. She made a very good decision because a couple of weeks ago he worked poorly, he was going for this race, and she said ‘we’re not going to work him again’.
