Permission was given for Capital Guarantee (IRE) to go early to post; for Vicario (GB) to go early to post, wearing a red hood; and for Beylerbeyi (GB) and Shamrock Bay (GB) to both wear a red hood to post.
Archivist (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Following the race, William Buick reported that Cadarn (IRE), unplaced, weakened quickly from approaching the final furlong; the Veterinary Officer examined Cadarn (IRE) post-race and had nothing to report.
An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding why a rail on the stands side, inside the final furlong, was left open.
The Clerk of the Course and the Head of Racecourse Operations were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
After hearing the evidence, a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horse Racing Authority for further consideration.
