At the request of the Raceday Stewards, E. Walsh, rider of Charlie's Gift, trained by John M.Burke, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was outpaced on the first circuit and stayed on past tired horses
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the first approach to the starter. Having considered the matter, they were satisfied that Lady Bee great, ridden by T.P. Harney had broke into a canter despite the riders best efforts and that no further action was warranted.
