The Raceday Stewards received a request from E.Sheehy, trainer of Pointwelltaken, to substitute the nominated rider Mr L.T. Turner, with Mr B.M. Coonan, as Mr L.T. Turner was unable to do the weight. Having considered the request, the Raceday Stewards granted the rider change on this occasion. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards wished to interview Mr L.T. Turner but as he was not in attendance, they referred the matter on to a Senior Racing Official
Mr J.L. Gleeson, rider of Alaskan View, trained by W.J. Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight and lost a front shoe
