Permission was given for Hat Toss (IRE) and Waiting All Night (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Revolutionise (IRE) to be mounted on the chute.
Revolutionise (IRE), drawn 7, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, thereby enabling the gelding to break quickly.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
The winner, Documenting (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 14 December 2024, where the gelding finished seventh of fourteen runners, beaten 8½ lengths.
Kevin Frost’s explanation that Documenting (GB) appreciated the return to Wolverhampton, where it is a multiple winner and consistently runs well, was noted.
Following the race, Sean Kirrane reported that Almarada Prince (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed and Tommie Jakes reported that Brasil Power (FR), unplaced, stopped quickly.
