Permission was given for Raatea (GB) to go early to post, and for Gressington (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Inside the final furlong, The Actor (IRE), unplaced, edged right-handed, causing a weakening Lord Abama (IRE), unplaced, to be crowded for room and the rider to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final half furlong, involving Raft Up (IRE), placed second, ridden by Joe Fanning, the winner, Raatea (GB), ridden by Oisin McSweeney and YES I’M MALI, placed third, ridden by Ethan Tindall.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Tindall was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
In the first incident, Fanning was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift slightly left-handed, causing Tindall to be moved marginally off his intended line.
McSweeney was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as immediately after the initial incident, he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction, giving a bump to Tindall, and causing his mount to become briefly unbalanced.
The performance of Havana Sky (GB), which finished eleventh of fourteen runners, beaten 9½ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Ed Dunlop could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
Havana Sky (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Dale Swift reported that Jenni (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
