Listowel Day 3: Lucky 15 Picks Day three of Listowel’s harvest festival sees flat racing for the second day in a row, with a fantastic seven-race card to get stuck into. The Listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes over a mile is the feature race. Our expert has put together a Lucky 15 for the action. Listowel Tuesday’s Lucky15 14:50 Listowel - Liamo @ SP 15:20 Listowel - Ramiro @ SP 15:50 Listowel - Norwalk Havoc @ SP 17:22 Listowel - Kingstonian @ SP Check out the best Listowel Festival betting offers. 14:50 Listowel - Liamo The second race on the card is a competitive 15-runner handicap over 7f and, with the ground described as heavy, this could suit Liamo. Brendan Walsh’s charge has run three times this year, starting off with a win over course and distance on ground that was good (good to yielding in places). A solid third-placed effort came next at Killarney on ground that was soft (soft to heavy in places) and that performance suggests he could go well at Listowel. Finishing third again at Leopardstown on last outing in August, the four-year-old is racing off a 2lb lower mark from that effort in Ireland and the booking of Paddy Harnett, who claims a useful 5lb, should help. 15:20 Listowel - Ramiro Oisin Murphy looks to have picked up a nice ride in the third race on the card - a 7f 15y Handicap - with Ramiro backed to pick up the win. The nine-year-old disappointed when finishing 10th at Roscommon at the start of this month, but that was just his second run of the year and he could benefit from the forecast heavy ground on Tuesday. Ramiro won twice on heavy ground in 2020, at the Curragh and Listowel, while he was second at Naas and third at the Curragh last year in the same conditions. With his mark now down to 71, this looks like a great opportunity for Ramiro to return to the winners’ circle. 15:50 Listowel - Norwalk Havoc The feature race of the day sees eight go to post for the Listed Edmund & Josie Whelan Memorial Listowel Stakes over a mile, and Norwalk Havoc looks like he will be hard to beat. Jessica Harrington’s charge has been a little underwhelming in his two runs this season, finishing sixth at Leopardstown in June before ending up 10th at Galway in July. However, the softer conditions at Listowel could bring about the improvement connections are hoping for, as the four-year-old won a Listed race at Leopardstown in October last year on heavy ground. If able to repeat that type of performance, Norwalk Havoc will surely have too much for his rivals. 17:22 Listowel - Kingstonian The action concludes with a 1m 6f Handicap and it could be worth putting your faith in another Jessica Harrington runner, Kingstonian. He was a good winner at Tramore last time out over 1m 4f and the step up in trip for this race is unlikely to be an inconvenience. Kingstonian has gone up 6lb for that August success but it still looks like there is more to come and another victory could be on the cards.
