FormscanBy Tom Weekes - TOON TOWN has been running well in similar handicaps recently and should get involved in an open looking handicap. He finished narrowly behind recent Clonmel-winner Kilbrin Rocco in November but is now 11lb better off with that rival. The selection was narrowly beaten at Catterick last month and is suited by this distance and today’s reasonable ground. Ex-hunter chaser West Of Carrig scored on handicap chase debut last month and while he can compete from 6lb higher, dropping in distance isn’t ideal. River Vale has been hurdling recently and while 8lb higher than when scoring at today’s course in October, today’s rider claims 7lb. Blue Hop was hampered at Tramore and can compete under top weight.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards (110 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
