The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Sierra De Gredos (GB), ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed first, and Jackandthefox, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed third, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Cleary stated that he suffered interference from his left that cost him vital momentum and possibly second place. G.F. Carroll stated that his mount is a difficult ride and veered right despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Sierra De Gredos had caused interference to Jackandthefox in that he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that G.F. Carroll, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the run into the first bend involving Big Baby Bull, ridden by C.D. Hayes, Jackandthefox, ridden by R.P. Cleary, and James The Second, ridden by W. Joyce where it appeared that Big Baby Bull ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes stated that he suffered interference from his right. R.P. Cleary stated that the horse drawn outside him broke well and he had to shift left off heels on the run to the first bend. W. Joyce stated that he was forced left by the movement of Jackandthefox. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action

C.D. Hayes, rider of Big Baby Bull, trained by Sean Hayes, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was very badly hampered

R.P. Cleary, rider of Jackandthefox, trained by Miss Jennifer Anne Lynch, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was tight for room close home costing him second place

A.C. Persse, rider of Oreeda, trained by Patrick J.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right

N.M. Crosse, rider of Shuyak, trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards rated 0-60
