It didn't look like we were 'up' so we couldn't believe it when the dead-heat was called - it is unbelievable!. Sean and Aideen both work for Jessica Harrington and this horse came from her yard. He ran well in Killarney the last day but he has a little think about things, so the blinkers were a big help today. We had a winner at the festival previously with Eastern Racer but that was during covid so this is great. Sean Byrne, trainer

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ciaran Murphy, trainer, in relation to the saddling of Castleheath, dead heated for first and Convincing, placed fifth, in this race where it appeared that the respective saddles were placed on the incorrect horses. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that it was human error on his behalf that had been detected by the IHRB Veterinary Team and he apologised for his actions. Evidence was also heard from the IHRB Veterinary Officer who confirmed that the error had been detected by a second identification scan prior to the horses entering the parade ring. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Ciaran Murphy was in breach of Rule 148(i) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards fined Ciaran Murphy €500 on this occasion. Mr. Peter Allen recused himself from this enquiry

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Comfort Line, ridden by Adam Caffrey, unplaced, God Knows, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced, and Storm Averted, ridden by W. Joyce, placed fourth, where it appeared Storm Averted moved left across the other horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. A. Heffernan stated that he got no run as he had to check several times as the horses moved out. Adam Caffrey stated that he received pressure from his inside causing him to come off his line. W. Joyce stated that his mount hung off the bend. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found W. Joyce was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) the Raceday Stewards suspended W. Joyce for four racedays

Adam Caffrey, rider of Comfort Line, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump on the point of the bend

S. Foley, rider of Heliogabalus, trained by Sean Byrne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right when he got daylight

J.A. Heffernan, rider of God Knows, trained by P. Sweeney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received two or three bad bumps in the closing stages
