MONBEG PARK is highly thought of by connections and should appreciate these waters after running in Graded company in his last couple of starts. It is worth noting that he went off favourite for a Grade 3 novice hurdle over 3m at Cork in December, but gave best in third. The drop back in trip could reap dividends as he won over an extended 2m5f at Punchestown in November. Dermot McLoughlin has hit form in March and his Ottoman Style has had the form of his Gowran Park victory boosted by two subsequent winners from that race. McLoughlin is no stranger to winners in Down Royal. Cardamon Hill ploughed through heavy ground to win a maiden hurdle at Tramore by a wide margin. He wasn't at his best on next start, but could bounce back here. Luimneach is clearly going the right way with two victories in his last three starts. There should be more to come from Connors Cross. Dartan is on a four-timer, but all his winning has been on better ground and he has been off since May last year.
