Formscan By Alan Magee - MAGELLAN STRAIT is a smart stayer on the Flat winning four times, notably when defying odds of 150/1 in last year’s Irish Cesarewitch at the Curragh. The son of Australia hasn’t jumped fluently when placed on both hurdle starts over this trip including here last month with Native Speaker close behind in third, and hopefully he’ll have benefitted from that experience. Downpatrick bumper winner Uncle Pat likes to be up with the pace and has shown promise in two maiden hurdle starts, while Irina’s Path has filled the runner-up spot twice since transferring to Gordon Elliott this year and now steps up in trip.
