Daboya beat Speisialta by nearly two lengths at Bellewstown but the latter may reverse the placings on these revised terms with Darragh O’Keeffe a significant booking. Gino Bella has progressed well this summer winning twice at Cork, while any further rain will help the cause of mudlark Sopelana.

I was delighted when they (three hurdles) came out, it was more like a Flat race. As well as that, she had so little experience, she won in Thurles after jumping really novicey. She has only had three runs (over hurdles), and we didn't do a lot of schooling with her. Danny sits up on her the odd day and does a lovely job for us. She has been in great form all summer, she has won two and was second in Tramore the last day. She's a tough mare. We'll look for another one of those mares' novices' hurdles probably, and maybe go back on the Flat too, until the ground gets heavy. She’s a bit mad! She ran too free in Listowel the last day and ran too free in Clonmel before that and in the Galway Hurdle she didn’t jump off,. I wanted to run her in the Irish Cesarewitch last week and he wouldn’t let me but now I want to run her in the Colm White Handicap at Naas (on October 12th). She has loads of ability, she’s very talented. If she puts it all together she’s capable of winning one of those. She did too much in the visor the last day and run herself into the ground. She’s fully mad and we just have to try and keep a lid on her. She ran well in the Tipperary Cup in Clonmel but she pulled for a mile-and-six, she was still pulling turning into the straight and still finished fourth. She’s not learning. She had been consistent in the 0-100 grade although it took her a while to win one. While you would think you're well-handicapped, then you bump into one like Timurshah who wins four-in-a-row, so there always seemed to be one better. At least today she had a nicer weight. Alan almost has a 'free' 5lb claim and she jumped, travelled and did everything right. She is well-bred so getting black type into her would be ideal. She isn't a winter mare, so I'm not sure if the Byrnes will come back with her next season.
