Formscan By Michael Graham - After DERBY decisively won a bumper in Gowran Park, Willie Mullins said he loves testing conditions which is what he is going to encounter here. He made all over two and a quarter miles in Gowran and could make this a real test for the others if he races prominently. He might be a shade of value at 5/1. Mullins has a strong hand as he also runs Thurles winner Voix Des Tiep and Cork victor Squadron Commander. A market check is essential on their chances. Getaway John was a wide-margin winner in Punchestown, after which Gordon Elliott said he would improve a lot. He has to be respected. Elliott is also represented by course and distance winner Sometime Soon. The form of his victory is working out well so he is likely to be popular with each-way punters at 7/1. Brace Yourself was impressive in Down Royal and then was well backed to deliver in a Grade Two bumper at Leopardstown. He finished well back in third there but the two horses that beat him came home fifth and ninth respectively in the Grade One Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. Brace Yourself has been chalked up as favourite and it is hard to argue with that. He is a significant threat for Noel Meade and Nina Carberry who teamed up to win a bumper here on Sunday. This is a stiff test for Devil's Glen on debut but being by Jeremy he should get through this ground well.
