Formscan By Donal Murphy - VOLKIS O'BLUE is not the most consistent sort but this is a very weak contest and the two time winner should be able to win it provided he puts his best foot forward. The Andy Slattery trained gelding is a course and distance winner and with Tim Carroll taking a valuable five pounds off he should go close. Rating Queen looks his biggest big danger. The Liz Doyle trained mare is another who is not the most consistent but she did win last time out at Thurles and with Kevin Sexton taking a valuable seven pounds off she should give the selection the most to do. Of the rest Ballyquin Queen looks the most interesting on her first start for James Motherway. The daughter of King's Theatre was previously trained by Philip Hobbs and has some decent form to her name. She carries top weight here and it will be interesting to see how she gets on.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 80-95Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won.
