Formscan By Alan Magee - Denis Hogan has proved a highly versatile trainer both on the Flat and over jumps in recent seasons, and the Cloughjordan handler appears to have another smart sprinter on his hands in Sceptical. He was snapped up for just 2,800 at Doncaster last year and that looks an absolute steal after winning the latest three of his four career starts all at Dundalk. The four-year-old was particularly impressive when storming home by over six lengths off a mark of 101 last time and should make a bold bid for the four-timer although this represents a significant step up in class. FOREVER IN DREAMS may prove the one to beat having competed with a lot of credit at the highest level last season. The Dream Ahead filly ran a career best when runner-up to Advertise in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and ran right up to that form on much more testing ground when third to Donjuan Triumphant in the Qipco British Champions Sprint also over six furlongs at Ascot. Sergei Prokofiev was highly regarded as a juvenile winning three times and a creditable third behind Calyx in the Coventry Stakes. He just held off Chessman when reappearing at Navan last year but was ultimately a bit disappointing. Buffer Zone won a valuable handicap on Irish Champions Weekend at the Curragh, while Woody Creek is another to consider.
