Formscan By Tom Weekes - SCOIR MEAR might be able to win this open looking handicap. He was a useful hurdler but, being built like a chaser, should do better over fences and now, crucially, steps up in trip following some encouraging runs over shorter trips recently. He was hit with a 4lbs hike for finishing second here over two miles latest but this big step up in trip could bring about vast improvement. Glencairn View seemed to show some improvement when stepping up to an extreme staying trip (3m1f) when winning at Punchestown in January and could be open to more progression today with testing ground also in his favour on just his second handicap chase attempt. Pairofbrowneyes makes his debut for Willie Mullins here and while he has been a solid performer in these type of races in the past, hasn't looked ahead of the handicapper on his most recent starts before Christmas. Poormans Hill continues to improve and again has solid claims today. His chase rating remains at a career high and while he was well held on his latest handicap chase start, that race was won by Presenting Percy and he could get involved today from his low weight. Close Shave has obvious claims on recent Naas form and can figure while Space Cadet has been running well in good handicaps recently and is another with his chance.
