Formscan - THE DOYEN CHIEF has shown promise on all three previous starts over fences and that includes a narrow defeat over 2m7f at Taunton last time. A 3lb rise is a slight concern, but the eight-year-old remains unexposed over this sort of trip and may still have improvement left to come. Dibble Decker also hit the crossbar on his most recent outing and could prove to be the main threat, although Slipway should not be discounted.
