ZAIDPOUR got his season off to a great start when taking the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse but his stamina just seemed to be stretched on very testing ground when subsequently beaten at Leopardstown and again by Bog Warrior here on Thyestes day. There was no disgrace in that and, back over two miles on ground he does handle very well, can take this prize for the second successive year. So Young can’t be easily discarded in receipt of 5lb. He seemed to be fighting a losing battle when making a mistake at the last against Solwhit at Naas last month, and just seems to lack that bit of class of his stablemate. Hisaabaat was one of the leading juvenile hurdlers last term winning the champion 4yo event at Punchestown and runner-up in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham. However he’s proved a bitter disappointment on both hurdle starts this term, and is best watched until showing some sparkle.
