Better Days Ahead wasn't doing a stroke in front. It wasn't ideal, he needs something to make it. Jordan (Gainford on Three Card Brag) took him along for as long as he could and probably ran a good race in his own right. I was thrilled with Stellar Story. He keeps guessing at his fences and I told Danny (Gilligan) to try and get him around and try to get a bit of confidence into him. He gave him a brilliant ride - probably a bit unlucky. We had fitness on our side and rain that fell suited us. He stayed going well and it is great to win those pots. Today might have been our day to catch Majborough napping. He is a great horse and that's his level. . To be fair, Majborough made mistakes so handed the race to us and today might have been our Gold Cup. The Red Mills Chase was one of the races we pinpointed at the start of the year. Small fields suit him – he likes to get on with things and wears the hood. He’s hot and we were a bit worried that he’d be a bit fresh on his first run and do too much on the heavy ground. Paul got a few breathers into him. Those Grade Twos or Grade Threes are where he’s most comfortable and he could go to Fairyhouse. he’s a great jumper but I haven’t ridden a Willie Mullins horse that fresh for a long time. He’s been off the track for a long time and he was fresh under me all the way. When he sees a fence he says 'let me at it'. He takes them on and at a couple of fences he’s got in deep, so I’ve tried to educate him. He was a very good horse over hurdles and it’s good to have him back again. He’s had a nice blow going down to the last but when I gave him a little squeeze he’s winged the last and gone away nicely.
