Formscan By Michael Graham - JETSON can win this again for Jessica Harrington and Robbie Power. The seven-year-old likes it round Foxrock and is a tough campaigner in big fields. He handles heavy going, is used to carrying big weights and is a sporting each way bet in this 30-runner handicap in which stakes should be kept to a minimum. He impressed last year in this race. There are dangers aplenty as there should be in a valuable handicap. It would be no surprise to see Novarov bounce back to form as he relishes a scrap in testing conditions. Since winning at Galway in August though he has leapt up in the handicap and may need a bit of relief from the handicapper as his last two runs weren’t impressive. Marlay Park for in-form Mags Mullins is worth keeping an eye on after showing some form at Thurles when runner-up. Darroun and Apt Approach represent Willie Mullins and are sure to be popular.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall; not be less than 11st 10lbPenalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
