Formscan - Last year's winner GENERAL MEDRANO seems to have been laid out for this contest once again. Emma Lavelle's charge made a pleasing reappearance when fourth in a good handicap at Ascot and a 1lb drop appears to be fair. Rare Edition bumped into a very well-handicapped rival at Kelso who has since won twice, including the Haldon Gold Cup. Conditions are definitely in his favour and he commands the utmost respect. Similar comments apply to Rath Gaul Hill, who is 2-2 over C&D and has gone well fresh.
