Formscan  - Caius Chorister has developed into a very smart stayer this season and, with legitimate excuses for her below par Ascot Gold Cup performance most recently, she must enter calculations easing in grade and trip. That said, the classy FREE WIND edges preference. The daughter of Galileo was last seen finishing second behind Bluestocking over an inadequate extended 1m2f at York in May, but that form reads well in the context of this race and she gets the vote to return to winning ways back up in trip. Melo Melo also has the form to play a hand in a race like this and she can't be ignored.
