Formscan By Gary Carson - POWER BLUE may be up to giving weight away to his rivals here. The Space Blues colt was a Group 1 winner when last seen in action in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh in August. The form of that race has worked out well with the runner-up True Love landing the Cheveley Park subsequently while leading Guineas hope Puerto Rico was back in fourth. This trip is the big question mark now with Power Blue. Aidan O’Brien saddles four with Ryan Moore on Flushing Meadows. This Wootton Bassett colt was beaten at short prices in a couple of stakes races last season but is obviously well regarded. Stablemate Dorset was progressive last season, winning the Goffs Million and Killavullan Stakes. He’s another for the shorlist.

Quotes on Geryon (IRE)

We have two colts that we like, this fella and Res Ipsa who ran at Leopardstown on Thursday. Res Ipsa fluffed his lines so I suppose it took away confidence and hence his starting price, but they are two similar horses,. You would like to think there would be plenty of improvement as it was his first day away from Glenburnie and first day on turf. The best-looking horse I had by Lope de Vega was Endless Drama who was second in the Guineas, and this is the second best one I’ve had by him. He’s a very good-looking colt.

He’s a good horse and he just needed a bit of time,. He’ll probably go for the Killavullan and then I’ll have to find a race to make him champion two-year-old!. He was very green and should improve.

Quotes on Redemption Road (GB)

He had a lovely run the last day but met all sorts of trouble. When you arrive here, you start hearing that this and that is fancied against you in the race, and we told Luke to sit in the box seat, float around and he did it well. He is a typical one of ours as he keeps getting better and is actually quite a nice horse. He is growing up with every run and is growing up at home as well. I don't know what we do from here but he is one for stepping up in trip, although maybe not just yet. He is a lovely looking horse and Amy (Marnane, niece) picked him out at Goffs last year and his stallion is doing well.

Quotes on Thesecretadversary (IRE)

His run at Ayr was a mess-up and while maybe the winner isn’t too bad, they went no gallop and the ground was soft. He had run well in Ascot and backed that up today. He did it well. It might be worth taking our chance in those big races now and there’s a Grade One (Summer Stakes on September 13) race for him in Canada on the same weekend as the National Stakes, which might be an option. The horse’s family has been lucky for me and thanks to the Rupert and Magnier families (joint-owners) for sending them all to me. My association goes back to Scream Blue Murder and I have an older full sister to Thesecretadversary in training as well.
