Formscan By Gary Carson - It remains to be seen how much ability Starspangledbanner retains although surely connections wouldn't persist if he wasn't showing them plenty at home. Regardless the yard's runners generally improve for a run so he doesn't look a betting proposition first time up. It's hard to get away from the English raiders in sprints and DEFINIGHTLY looks the one to side with. He seems to handle most ground but faded tamely on heavy at Newbury last month. He has been given a nice break since and is better judged on his previous victory over five here in the Sapphire Stakes. Roger Charlton's charge is equally at home over six and can bounce back to winning ways. Fire Lily failed to land a blow when thrown in at the deep end in the July Cup last time but is a definite danger back in this grade.
