The Irish National winner will have bigger targets later this year but connections would love to win this race, named in honour of the trainer's father. The gelding returned to form with a staying on effort over hurdles over Christmas and can figure at the business end here. Lambro has top weight and is without a recent run but has Grade 1 form and cannot be dismissed. Pires, who has the Boylesports Hurdle as a target later this month, has sound claims while Far Away So Close is also in fine form and can figure. Quiscover Fontaine has Tony McCoy's assistance but is quite high in the weights.
