Going - Soft To Heavy (Soft In Places). Overcast, cold

Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Two weeks ago here, I was keen to take on Mikael D'Haguenet, in the Opera Hat Novice Chase, with Buckers Bridge, before that meeting fell to the weather. Anyway we have no Buckers Bridge in this line-up but I'm still keen to be against Mikael D'Haguenet and haven't we got a grand horse to take him on with in the shape of SWEENEY TUNES. People better qualified than I, may suggest that there's nothing to be worried about now when it comes to Mikael D'Haguenet's jumping, but it'll always remain a nagging doubt with me. Anyway, regardless of that, Sweeney Tunes ran some race for a novice when narrowly going down in the Leopardstown Chase around a month ago and a repeat of such form could well be good enough in my book. Talented mares, Charlie's Vic and Madam Bovary both have to bounce back from falls last time and the pair have plenty on trying to upstage these talented geldings. Ballyadam Brook's stable is in good form but he's not well treated at these weights. Whodoyouthink therefore, looks the biggest threat to Mikael D'Haguenet and Sweeney Tunes. The ground drying out a bit will do him no harm and the well-bred gelding could be primed for a big performance returning to fences for the first-time since disappointing at Tipperary in October.
