Going - Soft To Heavy (Soft In Places). Overcast, cold

Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - Upsie, twice a winner in France, was due to begin her Irish racing life in a two mile three furlong maiden hurdle here a fortnight ago, before that card was abandoned. She's the obvious starting point but if she's strong in the market she's unlikely to present much value whilst conversely if she's easy to back then you'd hardly want to be an investor given the colours she carries. The Dessie Hughes team have never hidden their regard for TAPAIGH AN DEIS and he could be a very interesting proposition here, particularly if the betting gives positive signals. Granted he has a lengthy absence to overcome but the Osborne Lodge handler said of him in an Irish Field stable tour in October 2012: "This is a very nice horse who we bought at the Land Rover Sale. He ran two very good races in the spring of 2011 but he got a leg after the second one. He is back in training now and things are looking good for him. He'll go back over hurdles, but we might try him in a bumper first. He is still a young horse and, if things go right for him, he could be a really nice prospect." Aerlite Supreme is another that should have plenty of good days ahead of him and after failing narrowly in a bumper last time he should show up well here on his hurdling bow. Point-to-point winner, Dave's Stamper caught one or two eyes on his racecourse debut three weeks back and he could challenge for a place in the frame. There are a few newcomers that need to be monitored in the market too.
