Formscan - MATATA stepped forward considerably from his return to action when chasing L'Eau du Sud in the Shloer at Cheltenham until a jolting error at the final fence saw him lose second to Jonbon. The seven-year-old was runner-up to Nells Son in this contest last year before following up in a Windsor handicap off a 2lb higher mark and, despite being 3lb worse off this time around with Nicky Richards' gelding, he has every chance of getting back to winning ways. Saint Segal was runner-up in the Haldon Gold Cup behind a hugely progressive rival and commands respect, while dropping back in trip may benefit The Other Mozzie.
