Formscan By Gary Carson - WISE OSCAR stands out here back over fences. The gelding seems to have been rejuvenated by Dessie Hughes and was an easy winner over hurdles last time having had an impossible task against Bog Warrior previously. He won off 107 over timber last time and the handicapper reacted by sticking him up 17lb for that victory. He looks thrown in off his old chase mark of 101 now. Outlaw Pete couldn't get involved after being sent off joint-favourite in the Thyestes last time. He came into that race in fine form having landed a Cheltenham cross-country race previously and back in lesser company and having been dropped a pound he could be a danger. Paddy Pub should have benefited from a spin over hurdles here last month. That was his first start since finishing a fine fourth in the Irish National last season and he actually runs off a 2lb lower mark now than he did in the big race at Fairyhouse. He is sure to have National ambitions again this season and should be capable of a big show here despite giving weight away. Spring Heeled doesn't look particularly well handicapped while Castle Wings is consistent but may find a few too good again.
