Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - MAKE A CHALLENGE was a bit disappointing in the Prix de l’Abbaye and it seems the travel took a bit out of him. Reportedly very quiet in the preliminaries the general consensus was that Denis Hogan’s speedster ran a bit flat and just didn’t pick up. Many will chalk it down as an off-day, and Champions Day at Ascot on Saturday was an option but the five-year-old takes up this easier assignment. After a busy enough season it’s hardly any surprise to see the Invincible Spirit gelding stick closer to home for a race he won last year. Downforce was second in 2019 and he is one of a number with prospects of making the frame again.
